The LM4889 is an audio power amplifier that is primarily used in mobile phones. It delivers 1 watt of continuous average power output (8Ω bridge-connected load) with less than 2% distortion (THD + N) at 5V supply.
The LM4889 requires very few external components and does not require an output coupling capacitor or startup capacitor, making it suitable for mobile phones and other low voltage applications. The LM4889 features a low-power shutdown mode, internal false-shutdown protection, and noise cancellation for external gain-setting resistors.
