Why is MediaTek launching an entry-level 4G smartphone platform? Dr. Li Yanji, Director of Product Planning, MediaTek Wireless Communications Division, said that there are three main reasons:
First: In most emerging markets, the transition from 2G/3G or functional machines to 4G smartphones has only recently begun, and the growth potential is huge;
Second: 2G in some regions began to receive the network, both cards need to support 4G, and local operators have also introduced new functions;
Third: Users expect a better experience with the entry machine.

From these three points, MediaTek and Google have become close partners and the first system-on-chip partner of the GMS Express solution, which provides device manufacturers with proven Android software solutions, including Google Mobile Services ( GMS), Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) certification. Partnering with Google to launch pre-certified and compatibility-tested Android software and mobile services to help mobile device manufacturers bring products to market faster and at a lower cost, and to ensure a consistent and quality user experience.
MediaTek and Google's cooperation in projects such as GMS Express, as well as the latest entry-level 4G smartphone chip solutions, help Chinese mobile phone manufacturers expand overseas markets. Due to the slowdown in the domestic mobile phone market, many small and medium-sized manufacturers choose to enter the overseas market, facing the following problems:
1. Pre-installed Google Mobile Service (GMS);
2, the Android version upgrade project is vast, security patch updates frequently;
3, the export model configuration is slightly different, there are multiple sub-projects, software version maintenance is difficult.
Dr. Li Yanji said that the GMSExpress program not only helps mobile phone manufacturers to push products into the market faster, but also provides a consistent and high-quality consumer experience with various Android applications and devices.
Thanks to the GMSExpress program and its support, MediaTek will provide mobile phone manufacturers with pre-tested, pre-certified and fully compatible Android software and Google Mobile Services. Secondly, MediaTek customers (including OEMs and ODMs) can reduce the process of compatibility verification with Google from three months to four weeks, and often receive security update correction files to reduce equipment The risk of invasion.
MediaTek released the MT6739 processor for the entry-level market. Its biggest highlight is the support of the 18:9 HD+ screen, which once again lowered the price threshold for full-screen phones. The main performance parameters of MediaTek MT6739 are as follows:
Based on a mature 28nm process;
The CPU is a quad-core Cortex-A53 with a frequency of 1.5GHz;
The GPU is PowerVR GE8100, clocked at 570MHz and supports 18:9 HD+ screen (1440&TImes; 720);
Support 3GB LPDDR3 memory (667MHz), eMMC 5.1 flash memory.
MediaTek MT6739 has a global full-mode modem with a downlink rate of 150Mbps (Cat.4) and an uplink rate of 50Mbps (Cat.5). It supports dual-card dual VoLTE, dual-card dual-standby (DSDS) or 4G+3G (L+W). Support eMBMS, HPUE network, and the new 600MHz frequency band in North America to meet the current situation of 2G network gradual withdrawal.
In the next year or two, the Helio P series will be MediaTek's main force in the mid- to high-end market. Some analysts believe that the new Helio P40 will be launched in the first half of next year. In addition, MediaTek has also laid out early in the frontier areas such as 5G networks and AI.
