4-42V wide input DC-DC power supply module provides an efficient and simple design with 2.25 times smaller size
Maxim introduces system-level miniature IC ("uSLIC") family of modules that help designers of space-constrained systems significantly reduce solution size and increase efficiency. The MAXM17532 and MAXM15462 ultra-small (2.6mm x 3.0mm x 1.5mm), integrated DC-DC power modules are part of the Maxim Himalayan Power Solutions patent portfolio for the industrial, healthcare, communications and consumer markets. With these modules, customers can take full advantage of the industry's switching regulators, and have the advantages of small size and easy design of linear regulators (LDOs).With the rapid development of detection, interconnection and cloud computing, miniaturization will be the next cutting-edge technology to promote emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Next-generation system designs, from industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sensors, defense electronics and network infrastructure to medical and consumer products, require data collection, analysis, and response based on data analysis. Maxim's uSLICTM power modules are available in an ultra-small package that reduces the size of the power solution by 2.25 times thanks to a synchronous, wide input range of Himalayan buck technology with built-in FETs, compensation, integrated inductors and other features for a complete design. These component combinations enable designers to use modules in tightly constrained small spaces while meeting mechanical and EMI standards. In addition, engineers no longer have to deal with the heat dissipation of high-power, inefficient regulators in traditional solutions, greatly simplifying the design. With our solution, engineers can install off-the-shelf power modules in almost the same space as miniature LDOs. In such a small size, designers can achieve high efficiency, low noise, and higher stability. The uSLIC DC-DC buck regulator module operates from a wide input range as low as 4V up to 42V and supports a wide range of nominal input voltages of 5V, 12V, 24V and 36V, providing reliable headroom for next-generation applications. . The power module operates over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range.
