GE Lighting, a US appliance GE business and lighting business, will sign a patent licensing agreement with Rambus Inc., which will use LED's patented LED lighting technology to develop new LED products.
According to GE Lighting, the focus of the initial development was on thin LED lighting systems for architectural and commercial lighting.
Rambus Inc. is a special specification memory chip manufacturer. In December 2009, it acquired Global Lighting Technologies (GLT), including 84 advanced lighting and optoelectronic patent technologies including MicroLens, and established a lighting and display technology department to formally step into the LED backlight field.
