LED lighting has the advantages of high application efficiency, energy saving and emission reduction. As long as it can break through the bottleneck of technology and application, the market has great potential for development, and it is in line with environmental protection and sustainable development strategies for low-carbon development. The SAR Government will make every effort to give full play to its advantages in Macao and build a platform for environmental protection cooperation and scientific and technological exchanges. It will provide services for the development and promotion of low-carbon economy and environmental protection technologies and expand industrial efficiency. It will actively cooperate with the regional positioning of Macao and national emission reduction targets.

Ten cities and ten thousand cities are developing rapidly. Ye Dongbai said that currently major countries and regions in the world, such as Japan, the European Union, and South Korea, have formulated LED technology and industrial development policy plans to promote the development of traditional lighting industry to new technologies and new industries. The LED lighting energy-saving industry has been listed as one of the seven strategic emerging industries in the country. It has initially formed a relatively complete industrial system and reached an industry scale of 120 billion yuan last year, and it has grown at a rate of more than 30%. It is estimated that by 2015, the output value of the entire semiconductor lighting industry will reach 500 billion yuan. The “Ten City Million” semiconductor lighting application project led by the Ministry of Science and Technology has developed rapidly. At present, a large and medium-sized city has become a model city in the Mainland. In recent years, some LED companies and hotels in Macao have adopted LED lighting. It is believed that the application of the technology in Macao and the industrial development will provide support for the moderate diversified economic development in Macau.
