Sony announces next-generation PSP handheld

Sony revealed the true features of the next-generation PlayStation laptop at a press conference yesterday afternoon:

· 5-inch OLED high-resolution (960x544) screen, not only the screen size is larger, the amount of screen information is 4 times the old PSP
Touch home screen + back touchpad, six-axis control, dual analog rocker (front and back) dual cameras, 3-axis electronic compass, GPS
· Built-in WiFi and 3G Internet support · Flash memory-based game carrier with card slot and pop-up device The new handheld computer code, NGP (Next Generation Portable), will be launched in Japan during Christmas this year. The starting lineup includes: Uncharted, Killzone, WipeOut, Little Big Planet, Hustle Kings, and Hot Shots Golf.

Many industry leaders cheered on the show, including Kojima's Hideo Kojima, Capcom's Jun Takeuchi, Sega's famous Toshihiro Nagoshi, and Kusaka Nagisa's Suda Sada, SCE North America. The company's Jack Tretton and SCE's former head and father of PS, Kyu also came to the field.

The current director of SCE, Hirai Hirai, made a speech and claimed that 80% of PS3 users are connected via the Internet. By January 25, a total of 69 million PSN registered accounts were generated. The PSN platform has completed 1.4 billion (to be confirmed) downloads since its launch in 2006.

Another big move by Sony is to announce a cross-platform content push service called "PlayStation Suite." The target is various types of Android and platform machine systems - this means that Android users can have PlayStation game library and game software under PlayStation authentication system.

Kazuo Hirai said that users can access the PS online store on Android devices in the future, and the first batch of works from the PS1 classic games.

Sony is now not only looking to hack at Microsoft on the console, but also on Apple’s and Apple's online store on handhelds and mobile platforms.
