The concept of "flexible touch" may be that since the touch and display hooks together, many industry vocabularies have the same prefix on both of them. From the beginning of the sale of flexible AMOLED display screens by Samsung in 2016, the flexible display has become the largest piece of tiger skin in the industry. The reason is very simple. The earliest capacitive screen is the “flexible touch screen” of PFF structure. This flexible touch screen was promoted from the 1990s. In the past ten years, it has accumulated various kinds in the industry for various reasons. The negative user experience can be described as "notorious", and the low-end resistive touch screen can easily beat it.

After Apple applied capacitive touch screens to consumer electronics and popularized the entire consumer electronics market, the non-Apple camp had to use the resistive touch screen production technology to produce GFF structure touch screens. In order to ensure that users can get an experience similar to Apple products, the same tempered glass material is used for the operating surface that is in contact with the user.

In the early days of the non-Apple camp to promote capacitive screens, no one tried to use a PFF structure touch screen with better production efficiency and yield than the GFF structure touch screen, but the G glass cover user experience cultivated by the market, let the P plastic cover It has been unpredictable, and as the LCD display continues to thin, the strength of the LCD display is insufficient, and it needs to be able to be fully reinforced with the G-glass cover. Up to now, the biggest problem with the P plastic cover is that it is not scratch resistant. In order to solve this problem, the industry used to use two methods to avoid the addition of hard film or enhanced self-healing layer.

The more popular mode in the industry is to add a hard film layer to the P plastic cover plate. After the molding, the highest hardness can be obtained, and the highest value can be close to 9H. However, the hard plastic layer of the P plastic cover is extremely brittle and cannot be bent. If it is slightly deformed, it will crack, and the actual meaning is not too great.

Similarly, LG and Motorcycle have previously adopted the P plastic cover composite PU self-healing layer on their mobile phones, which can repair slight scratches up to 0.02mm, which basically guarantees the surface quality under normal use. The problem is that it does not guarantee that scratches caused by contact or collision between the phone and other objects in daily life can be automatically repaired.

According to Fu Yin Xu, who has been engaged in the research of chemical basic raw materials for more than 20 years, the current direction of solving the application problems of flexible P plastic cover is mainly placed on PU repairable materials. Mr. Xu said that they have a long history of applying PU repairable materials in the automotive industry. They can even repair scratches above 1 MM in non-display areas. Mr. Xu believes that as long as flexible touch and flexible display can be realized in automotive electronics, they will not have many obstacles from car electronics to smart home. Only the market space of automotive electronics is less than one tenth of that of consumer electronics, and the market space of smart homes is much smaller than that of automotive electronics. Other industry people have expressed the same view. Everyone thinks that the flexible touch that can be repeatedly bent, the functional materials are basically not many technical industry obstacles, because the display device based on complex semiconductor technology can realize the reflexible flexible display.
